Growing up in Compton during the Civil Rights movement was an attitude adjustment. Going to “the Verb” was an attitude adjustment. The Verb had talent like I had never known. One such talent was Dwight Slaughter, a member of my graduating class. Life’s experiences are something to behold. Richard Pryor once said “you don’t get to be old by being a fool”. Dwight has the heart to reflect the way it has been, AND, the way it is.
